On 10 February 2026, Transparency for Colombia published the results of the 2025 Corruption Perception Index, in which the country scored 37 points out of 100, ranking 99th out of 182 countries. This result represents a drop of 2 points and 7 positions compared to 2024, consolidating a downward trend since 2023, when the highest score of the last decade (40 points) was achieved.
The report highlights that Colombia is below the regional average for the Americas (42 points) and shows fragility in the progress made against corruption. Factors such as the absence of a robust and sustained anti-corruption public policy and the persistence of corruption scandals in high-level government have deepened scepticism and mistrust regarding the state’s ability to ta kle this phenomenon in a structural manner.
