The current state of the enabling environment for civil society in each country part of this project is captured in a concise, two-page Enabling Environment Snapshot. This first Snapshot provides an overview of the enabling environment in 2024 and serves as a baseline for the next snapshots, which will be produced three times a year. These snapshots will focus on recent trends, shifts and developments across the six enabling environment principles, as well as highlight challenges and opportunities. The sixth principle ‘Access to a secure digital environment’ was not assessed in this first Snapshot, however, it will be included in the upcoming research outputs.
