Event Summary
On 2 September 2025, Mendoza Police officers tried to enter a peaceful assembly of the Ni Una Menos movement at the headquarters of the Ecumenical Association of Cuyo without a warrant. The participants denounced the event as an act of intimidation that violates freedom of assembly, association and political participation. According to the collective, the officers argued that they “corroborated disturbances,” which was perceived as a form of institutional harassment.
The episode was widely reported in local media such as COMECUCO (04.09.2025), El Editor Mendoza (04.09.2025), Diario Mendoza (03.09.2025) and Mendoza Today (04.09.2025). The Ni Una Menos collective also formally denounced the harassment before the Legislature of Mendoza and filed a Preventive Habeas Corpus.
Feminist organizations stressed that the event occurred on the same day that another femicide was recorded in the province, evidencing the paradox of a police force that intimidates those who fight against gender violence instead of protecting them.
