On 20 May 2026, Lawyers Without Borders (ASF) and the Tunisian Organisation of Young Doctors (OTJM) announced that they had received notification of the lifting of the suspension of their activities and the resumption of their organisational, scientific and field work, following a statement issued by the State Legal Adviser. The two organisations stated that this decision would allow their structures to return to normal operation and their programmes and activities to be resumed.
Although the organisations took the necessary legal steps to challenge the suspension order, none of the legal proceedings resulted in a trial or a court ruling. The suspension was therefore lifted by administrative order during the legal proceedings, via an official statement from the State’s legal representative, and not following a court decision.
Levée de la suspension des activités de deux associations de la société civile
Le 20 mai 2026, Avocats sans frontières (ASF) et l’Organisation tunisienne des jeunes médecins (OTJM) ont annoncé avoir reçu notification de la levée de la suspension de leurs activités et de la reprise de leurs travaux organisationnels, scientifiques et de terrain, à la suite d’une déclaration publiée par le conseiller juridique de l’État. Les deux organisations ont déclaré que cette décision permettrait à leurs structures de reprendre un fonctionnement normal et à leurs programmes et activités d’être relancés.
Bien que les organisations aient engagé les démarches juridiques nécessaires pour contester l’ordonnance de suspension, aucune de ces procédures n’a abouti à un procès ni à une décision de justice. La suspension a donc été levée par arrêté administratif au cours de la procédure judiciaire, par le biais d’une déclaration officielle du représentant légal de l’État, et non à la suite d’une décision de justice.
