Following several weeks of conflict between the Government and the National Union of Doctors of the Ministry of Public Health (SINAMED), during which the union had called strikes and demanded better working conditions, salary adjustments and adequate hospital supplies, progress was made in the dialogue between the two sides.
On 13 September 2026, the Minister of Health was replaced. The new minister called for a tripartite working group and, on 14 September, the Government and the medical union announced an agreement on the four points raised by the union, including the salary adjustment. The proposal will be submitted to the union assembly for consideration and could lead to the lifting of the planned protest measures.
The establishment of the working group opened a new space for dialogue between the Government and SINAMED, allowing the union to raise its demands directly and participate in efforts to find solutions to the health crisis. Gobierno y gremio médico alcanzan un acuerdo tras la apertura de un nuevo espacio de diálogo
Tras varias semanas de conflicto entre el Gobierno y el Sindicato Nacional de Médicos del Ministerio de Salud Pública (SINAMED), durante las cuales el gremio había convocado huelgas y reclamado mejores condiciones laborales, reajustes salariales y una provisión adecuada de insumos hospitalarios, se produjeron nuevos avances en el diálogo entre las partes.
El 13 de septiembre de 2026, la ministra de Salud fue sustituida. El nuevo titular convocó una mesa de trabajo tripartita y, el 14 de septiembre, el Gobierno y el gremio sanitario anunciaron un acuerdo sobre los cuatro puntos del petitorio, incluido el reajuste salarial. La propuesta será sometida a consideración de la asamblea del gremio y podría permitir el levantamiento de las próximas medidas de protesta anunciadas.
La conformación de una mesa de trabajo compartida abrió un nuevo espacio de interlocución entre el Gobierno y SINAMED, permitiendo al gremio plantear directamente sus demandas y participar en la búsqueda de soluciones a la crisis sanitaria.
