Led by the Parliament (National Assembly and National Council), the first Parliament-CSO one day meeting was held on 7 August 2026 and was attended by Chairperson of the National Council, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairs of the Committees of both houses, members of the CSOs represented by the Chairs of the eight Thematic Groups, Representatives from the CSO Authority (CSOA), and the two CSO Representatives on the CSOA (CSO Board).
The objective for this first meeting was to draw up a common understanding and approach for institutionalising an engagement mechanism between the two sectors. The meeting is important as the platform provided a space for CSOs to work with legislators and aim at understanding each other’s roles and build trust, cooperation and collaboration through transparent information sharing, thereby enabling a more informed, inclusive and responsive decision-making.
