Families later conducted a mass burial for the victims as communities expressed shock and concern over the escalation of violence.
The violence reportedly involved armed groups linked to local clan tensions, with disputes escalating into armed confrontation in and around civilian areas. The incident caused fear among residents, disrupted community stability, and raised concerns about possible retaliation and further escalation. The Federal Government of Somalia’s Ministry of Interior condemned the violence and called for an immediate end to hostilities, while urging traditional elders, women, youth, religious leaders, and local authorities to support dialogue and reconciliation efforts.
