The current state of the enabling environment for civil society in each country part of this project is captured in a concise, two-page Enabling Environment Snapshot. This first Snapshot provides an overview of the enabling environment in 2024 in Madagascar and serves as a baseline for the next snapshots, which will be produced three times a year. These snapshots will focus on recent trends, shifts and developments for the previous four months across the six enabling environment principles, as well as highlight challenges and opportunities. The sixth principle ‘Access to a secure digital environment’ was not assessed in this first Snapshot, however, it will be included in the upcoming research outputs.
