On 14 July 2026, a collective of doctors not receiving hazard pay organised a sit-in outside the Government House in Kinshasa to demand that they be brought into line with the hazard pay scheme, the regular payment of salaries, and the regularisation of the status of unpaid doctors. Whilst they were demonstrating in the hope of being received by the Minister of Health to present their grievances, members of the Congolese National Police brutalised them, hosed them down with water to disperse them, and one doctor was even beaten up.
Kinshasa : Répression du sit-in des médecins devant l’hôtel du gouvernement
Le 14 juillet 2026, le collectif des médecins non primés ont organisé un sit-in devant l’hôtel du gouvernement à Kinshasa pour réclamer leur alignement à la prime de risque, le paiement régulier des salaires et la mécanisation des médecins non rémunérés. Pendant qu’ils manifesté dans l’espoir d’être reçus par le Ministre de la santé en vue de lui soumettre leurs doléances, les éléments de la police Nationale Congolaises les ont brutalisés, aspergés d’eau pour les disperser et un médecin a même été tabassé.
