On 10 June 2026, the Commission on Human Rights and Public Administration/Integrity will host a strategic engagement involving a senior representative from the Network of African National Human Rights Institutions (NANHRI), civil society organizations, commissioners, and parliamentarians. The engagement aims to promote NANHRI’s mandate in supporting emerging human rights commissions across Africa and to discuss the adoption of the Human Rights Bill in Eswatini. The meeting will also focus on strengthening the Commission’s capacity and aligning it with international standards governing independent National Human Rights Institutions.
Civil society organizations have been invited to participate in the dialogue, reflecting an effort to encourage stakeholder engagement in ongoing human rights reforms. The discussions are expected to contribute to broader conversations on institutional independence, accountability, and the effectiveness of national mechanisms for the protection and promotion of human rights. The engagement represents a positive opportunity for dialogue between state institutions and civil society while highlighting the importance of continued reforms aimed at strengthening the independence and effectiveness of Eswatini’s human rights protection framework.
