Event Summary
In Dili, on 25 November 2025, the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion held a consultation event to take part in the process of establishing and implementing the Law on the Protection of Children and Young People in Danger, which aims to establish effective measures to protect children and young people from dangerous situations and violence.
In this consultation, the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion involved relevant institutions such as government and civil society to hear the views of civil society and all parties to contribute to the development of the Decree Law on Child Protection and the Ministerial Diploma on the Child Protection Network. This event was held to gain perspectives from development partners such as civil society and relevant government institutions. Until now there has been no involvement of children but they will continue to consult relevant partners ahead of finalizing the draft law before taking it to the council of ministers to discuss and approve.
