Palestinian supporters arrested and detained without charges

Since January 2025, over 20 individuals, primarily from Jordan’s Islamic movements, have been arrested for their support of the Palestinian resistance. Many remain detained without formal charges or clear details, raising serious concerns about violations of legal rights, including the use of administrative detention. The families of those detained have publicly opposed the arrests, organising a sit-in outside the Jordanian Parliament. However, despite growing attention, public mobilisation beyond the immediate families has remained limited.

This situation underscores ongoing restrictions on freedom of expression and assembly, particularly regarding pro-Palestine activism. Given the lack of transparency surrounding the arrests, civil society must advocate for procedural transparency and the strict application of the rule of law.
